Questions Emerge After Kenyan-French National Is Found Dead in Hardy, Karen
Detectives at Nairobi are probing the death of Georges Pierre Samuel Roomoguere, a 58-year old Kenyan – French national who was found with a bullet wound to the head in a house in the Hardy area of Nairobi’s posh suburb of Karen. Initial reports suggested it could have been a suicide however thats now being looked into in more detail.
The man was found lying in a pool of blood in the downstairs bedroom of a house on Mukoma Road at the weekend.
The police had originally thought the death was probably a case of suicide , but details from the scene are throwing up a lot of questions that detectives are going to have to answer as they try to work out exactly what happened.
Kenyan-French National Found Dead at Karen Residence
Cops who rushed to the scene after getting a 999 call found Roomoguere’s body in a pretty grim state inside the house.
According to what they found, he seemed to have been shot once in the head and had a scratch on the left hand side of his stomach which they still cant make much sense of.
The incident was logged at Hardy Police Station as a suspected suicide but – as always with these things – that initial assessment is not the final word on how he died.
Now the detectives are going to dig into the evidence to piece together what was going on in the hours leading up to the shooting.
Police Investigate Details Recovered at Mukoma Road Home
The gun and bullets that were found at the scene – these are the details investigators will be putting under the microscope.
Forensic boffins recovered a Glock 17 handgun with 14 rounds in the magazine, an extra two mags stuffed with another 30 rounds, and a single spent round that was also picked up.
This lot may give the investigators a better idea of what went down – including how the gun was used and whether the physical evidence checks out with what the police thought was going on initially.
But on its own, the amount of ammo they found doesnt tell them much about what actually happened. Whether someone else was involved is still a big question mark.
To get to the bottom of things, the investigators will have to rely on forensic evidence, what witnesses say, and any other clues they can lay their hands on.
DCI Karen Investigates Fatal Shooting
The DCI boys based in Karen are looking into the circumstances surrounding Roomoguere’s death.
The investigation is likely to focus on the scene itself, the gun they found, the spent round, and the injuries the guy had on him when he died.
Detectives might also look at any witness statements they can get, and any other evidence that could help figure out what led up to that 999 call.
For now the facts dont give much away – whether the guy shot himself or someone else was involved is still a big mystery.
Autopsy at Lee Funeral Home Expected to Provide Answers
Roomoguere’s body has been taken to Lee Funeral Home, and a post-mortem examination is going to have to help figure out what caused his death.
Hopefully a forensic examination will give us a clearer picture of how that gunshot wound happened and whether what the docs found matches up with what people said they saw.
It could also give investigators a better idea if the other injury Roomoguere had is important or not, and what more they should be looking for.
A lot will depend on what the autopsy turns up, as well as all the other stuff detectives have been digging up – it will all add up to help figure out what really went down that ended in a fatal shooting.
Questions Remain as Investigations Continue
Roomoguere’s death has got a whole lot of questions that need answering – like what was going on inside the house at the time of the shooting, and what all the physical evidence means.
It started out getting reported as a possible suicide, but until the investigation is done and the forensic results are in – we can’t say for sure what happened.
No one should jump to conclusions about Roomoguere’s death until the police and other authorities have all the facts on the table.
It’s going to be a while yet, but as the detectives keep digging, we can expect to hear a lot more about what went down.
