Safaricom Hiring: Four New Positions You Can Apply for This October

Safaricom reveals four job openings way back in October 2026, offering people a chance to get involved in some really interesting areas – cybersecurity, monitoring and evaluation, data architecture and business architecture.

The Safaricom job openings in October 2026 are located at Safaricom House on Waiyaki way in Westlands, Nairobi. The application process says you’ve got between October 13 and 19, 2026 to get your resume in, although one of the jobs doesn’t actually list a closing date – which is a bit confusing.

So, what are these four jobs? They are for a Senior Officer in Cyber Secure by Design; a Specialist in Monitoring, Evaluation, Reporting and Learning; an M-Pesa Africa Senior Data Architect; and a Solutions and Business Architecture Area Chapter Lead.

By the way, the M-Pesa Africa Senior Data Architect one has been highlighted on the Safaricom recruitment site as “Trending” (whatever that means) so maybe it’s worth taking a closer look at.

Safaricom Announces Four Job Vacancies

Safaricom is looking for the right people to fill four different spots across a few different teams. Each role comes with its own specific set of requirements – like the right academic qualifications, some relevant work experience and a nice set of technical skills.

The jobs themselves are looking for people with backgrounds in information security, statistics, economics, data science, computer science and enterprise architecture. If that sounds like you, and you’ve got the right stuff, then you should go take a look at each job and see which one(s) you’re a good fit for. Just make sure you double-check the closing dates on the recruitment portal before submitting your application.

1. Senior Officer, Cyber Secure by Design

Safaricom has put up a job posting for a Senior Officer, Cyber Secure by Design under job number 1557.

If this one sounds like you, then you’ll have experience with information security, networking and web or mobile app tech. You’ll also have a degree in information security or computer science. Ideally you’ve also got at least 3 years of experience with information systems security, networking & app tech. Bonus points if you’ve got one of those fancy security certifications lurking on your resume.

The deadline for this one is October 18, 2026, but be careful, the job details say 12am on that day, so double check the Safaricom recruitment portal to make sure you’re in on time.

2. Specialist – Monitoring Evaluation Reporting and Learning

The next job up is for a Monitoring Evaluation Reporting & Learning Specialist – Job ID 1561. Think of this one as a fixed-term gig with a focus on folks who’ve been around the block a few times in monitoring, evaluation, reporting and learning.

You’ll need a bachelors degree from someone like University of Nairobi or Technical University in monitoring and evaluation or a related field like data science or economics. Not to mention at least 4 years of actual time in the field.

If you match that bill, it’s time to dig deeper and see if you’ve got what it takes to take on this one. Bear in mind there’s more to it than just qualifications – check the job description for the whole list of what Safaricom is looking for.

And don’t sleep on the deadlines, the application window closes October 13 2026 at midnight. To make sure it’s still open though, best check the Safaricom portal pretty sharpish.

3. M-Pesa Africa Senior Data Architect

Safaricom has another job up, Senior Data Architect is the title this time, under the M-Pesa Africa banner and listed as Job ID 1569.

If you’re an experienced tech bod with a background in data modelling, cloud data platforms and data architecture, then this might just be the one for you.

You’ll need a degree in something like computer science or electrical engineering, and a minimum of 3 years experience in the data architecture game, preferably at the senior or lead level.

You’re going to need to able to demonstrate your data skills and show off your experience with complex data management. The M-Pesa Senior Data Architect job was posted on October 5 2026 and has been showing up on their job portal as one of the ‘trending’ vacancies.

Just a heads up on the deadline – it’s October 19 2026 at 11:55 PM over on Safaricom’s site.

4. Solutions and Business Architecture Area Chapter Lead

The fourth position up for grabs is a Solutions and Business Architecture Area Chapter Lead job, Job ID 1555.

This one is a bit different to the other jobs on offer, it’s really looking for senior pros with bags of experience in solutions, business or enterprise architecture.

You’ll need to have at least eight years worth of relevant professional experience, that’s a minimum of five years of leadership experience.

A degree is essential for this role, but a master’s would be a real plus, as would professional qualifications like TOGAF or CBAP.

If you’ve led architect teams, driven business transformation or worked with complex enterprise tech projects then this role could be right up your street.

Unfortunately Safaricom hasn’t given us a deadline for this one, so you’ll need to head on over to the recruitment portal to see if it’s still open for applications and what any other requirements might be.

How to Apply for Safaricom Jobs in Kenya

If you’re after a Safaricom job in Kenya then you’ll start out by heading over to the company’s official website at https://www.safaricom.co.ke/ and having a look at their careers or recruitment section.

You can then search for the job you want using the job title or the job ID and create a profile or update an old one so you can proceed with your application.

The form will ask you for stuff like your qualifications, work history, any pro certs you might have and other relevant info, as well as wanting you to attach a copy of your up-to-date cv and any other extra bits that the job description might ask for.

Before you hit submit make sure you’ve double checked all your details are spot on, and that you’ve got all the right qualifications to do the job.

Finally, don’t forget to apply through Safaricom’s official recruitment channels and to double check the deadline on the relevant job page.

Safaricom’s Role in Kenya’s Digital Economy

Safaricom is a major player when it comes to telecommunications and digital services in Kenya and they’ve got a presence in Ethiopia too. They’re a one stop shop for all things mobile, they’ve got mobile connectivity, M-Pesa, enterprise solutions and a whole lot more when it comes to digital financial services.

These four job openings they’ve got on the table give you a good idea of the kind of skills theyre looking for, from beefing up their cybersecurity to keeping their data infrastructure on track and overseeing the architecture of their enterprise operations.

For anyone who’s qualified, this is a chance to explore all sorts of roles within a company that’s got its finger in the pies of all sorts of different areas – from mobile and finance to digital services and more.

Safaricom Introduces eSIM Management Feature on My OneApp

Safaricom has just launched a new eSIM management feature on their My OneApp, a pretty nifty bit of kit that lets customers request, track and activate digital SIMs right through the app.

You can find this feature in the profile section of the app where you can send off an application, keep an eye on how things are going and finally activate the whole shebang.

An eSIM is a tiny digital SIM card that lives inside a compatible device, totally different from the old fashioned physical SIM you’d slot into a phone. The beauty of an eSIM is you dont have to go rooting around in your pocket for a separate SIM card to activate it, the whole process is done digitally.

The tech also means that users can keep multiple phone profiles on the go, and even manage their mobile connectivity when theyre overseas – all a lot more convenient than messing around with SIM cards and whatnot.

This is just the latest of Safaricom’s digital services designed to make mobile connectivity and account management a bit more straightforward, more convenient for their customers.
