EACC Arrests Teacher Accused of Demanding Ksh.100,000 for TSC Jobs
A teacher at the Friends School Kamusinga Boys High School in Bungoma County just got arrested and it’s quite a story. It’s alleged that Lilian Nelima Buluma demanded bribes from jobless teachers in exchange for helping them snag a job at the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).
Buluma was hauled in by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) on Monday, October 12, 2026, after three job-seekers came forward with allegations that she’d been asking for money to grease the wheels of their application to the TSC.
Apparently Buluma was after 100 grand from each of the three, which adds up to 300 thousand bob for those who speak Kishwahili.
EACC Reveals Amount Teacher Allegedly Received Through M-Pesa
The EACC recently spilled the beans, in the form of some pretty incriminating data and revealed that Buluma allegedly pocketed a cool 150 thousand shillings via M-Pesa as part of the cash she demanded from her three clients.
It turns out the unemployed teachers paid up after being promised their prayers would be answered, I mean, that they’d finally land a job at the TSC. But things took a bad turn, and allegations are now flying that job-seekers are getting targeted by someone who claims to have a string of connections that’ll guarantee them a spot in the public sector.
How the Teacher Allegedly Promised to Secure TSC Jobs
The EACC has come up with the goods, and it seems Buluma spun a pretty convincing yarn, basically she positioned herself as someone who had ear with the TSC and other government offices, and claimed she could use those connections to grease her clients’ applications and get them the job.
Needless to say, these allegations are still being looked into, and as of yet no one’s been found guilty of anything. But it’s enough to get you thinking – how many other job-seekers might be falling for the same scam?
What Happened After the Teacher’s Arrest?
After her arrest, Buluma got processed at the EACC Western Regional Office and then got booked at the Bungoma Police Station. It’s unclear what’s next for her, or whether she’ll be facing charges. That will depend on the outcome of the investigation and how the relevant authorities choose to proceed with it.
What TSC Job Seekers Should Know
This whole thing serves as a nice reminder: always be on high alert for job-seekers who make big promises about government jobs, especially if they’re asking for money in exchange. If you spot a dodgy deal, the best thing to do is to get on to the relevant authorities and report it ASAP.
