Linda Mwananchi Movement (LMM), led by Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna, has recorded a commanding lead in an online political poll, beating President William Ruto’s United Democratic Alliance (UDA), Rigathi Gachagua’s Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) and the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM).
The poll, conducted by Politrack Africa News on X on Wednesday, November 4, attracted 15,660 responses, with LMM securing 84.8% of the votes.
The results place Sifuna’s political movement far ahead of its three rivals, raising fresh interest in its growing profile as Kenya approaches the 2027 General Election.

Edwin Sifuna’s Linda Mwananchi Movement Gains Attention Ahead of 2027
LMM, which emerged in early 2026 under the leadership of Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna, has increasingly positioned itself as an alternative to Kenya’s established political parties.
Its emergence comes as political activity intensifies ahead of the 2027 General Election, with different political formations seeking to attract supporters and build their national presence.
President William Ruto has been campaigning across the country while criticising emerging opposition formations, including LMM and DCP, questioning whether they have clear agendas for Kenyans.
The president has also expressed confidence in his re-election prospects, although his continued political attacks on rival formations have attracted criticism from opponents.
Rigathi Gachagua Steps Up DCP Grassroots Mobilisation
Meanwhile, former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has been working to expand the grassroots presence of his Democracy for the Citizens Party.
Gachagua has outlined ambitions for DCP to compete for elective positions across different levels of government in 2027.
The party is targeting seats ranging from Members of County Assembly (MCAs) and Members of Parliament to senators and governors.
However, its second-place finish in the Politrack online poll left it significantly behind Sifuna’s LMM.
What the Poll Could Mean for Kenya’s 2027 Elections
LMM’s performance offers an indication of the support it enjoys among respondents who participated in the online poll.
However, the results should not be treated as a scientific measure of national political support or a prediction of the 2027 election outcome.
The poll was conducted among users of Politrack Africa News’ X account, meaning its participants may not represent Kenya’s wider voting population.
Nevertheless, the figures provide another talking point in the growing political contest involving Ruto, Gachagua and emerging opposition leaders as the country moves towards the next General Election.
