Edwin Clark, a former federal intelligence officer and supreme leader of the South, endorsed Labor Party presidential candidate Peter Obi in a vote on Tuesday.
Addressing reporters from his residence at Asokoro in Abuja, Clark said the country would be more united if the former governor of Anambra were president of Nigeria.
He emphasizes that whoever becomes the next president must be educated and experienced, and that the Southeast must be able to produce the next president.
He argued that there were resourceful, educated people in the region who could run the country.
