Uproar as National Gov’t withholds counties funds.

The Kakamega county Gov’ Fernandez Barasa has called on the National Government to stop withholding counties funds.

While citing the constitution, he said the law of the land calls for timely realise of Counties funds.

“The National Government should stop withholding funds meant for counties. The constitution of Kenya calls for timely release of funds.” He said in a statement.

He spoke this at the Roots Party Leader Prof. George Wajackoyah’s home in Indangalasia, Koyonzo Ward, Matungu Sub-county for the memorial service of his father Mzee Tito Wajackoyah.

He was in the company of Siaya Governor James Orengo.

He seized the opportunity to outline his agenda for the people of Matungu, which incorporates upgrade of roads, overhaul of the Healthcare System, access to affordable farm inputs, among others.

Also present was the Kakamega Women MP Mama Elsie Muhanda, among other leaders.

“Today I joined the family and friends of the Roots Party Leader Prof. George Wajackoyah in Indangalasia, Kakamega County for the memorial service of his late father Mzee Tito Jakoya. May the soul of mzee continue resting in eternal peace.” Orengo said in a statement.
