Mumias East MP Peter Salasya Denies UDA, State House Funding Allegations
Mumias East Member of Parliament Peter Salasya has strongly denied allegations linking him to the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party and claims of receiving financial support from State House.
In a statement issued on Saturday, May 10, the MP dismissed the accusations as unfounded and politically motivated. He emphasized that he has not received any money from State House officials or affiliated government figures.
“For the avoidance of doubt, I am not a UDA project. I am not funded by State House. I have never received a single cent—let alone Ksh40 million—from Katoo Ole Metito or any government official,” Salasya stated.
He characterized the allegations as a form of propaganda, intended to undermine the growing political momentum he claims to be building nationwide. According to him, those spreading the claims are intimidated by his rising popularity and grassroots support.
“These claims are nothing but cheap, lazy propaganda manufactured by cowards who are terrified of the political wave I am building across the nation,” he said. “They can’t match the momentum, the courage, or the connection I have with the people—so they resort to lies.”
Salasya also addressed concerns over the alleged misuse of the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) for personal or political gain. He reaffirmed his commitment to transparency and proper use of public resources.
“I posted my payslip publicly. I do not hide. I earn what every MP earns. Unlike others, I do not worship money—I serve the people,” he said. “What you are seeing is not about money. It is strategy, charisma, and goodwill from Kenyans who believe in the future I represent.”

He firmly denied any misuse of the CDF, stating that all funds are used to benefit local residents through verifiable development projects.
“Not a single cent of Mumias East CDF has been misused. Our projects are visible, trackable, and transformative. Ask the students, the schools, the hospitals, and the parents—we are delivering, not looting,” he added.
Commenting on his national visibility and frequent tours across the country, Salasya stated that his growing presence is a result of genuine support from ordinary citizens who believe in his leadership.
“I am not your ordinary politician. I am a man of the people, backed by patriotic Kenyans who want change—not cartels. This movement cannot be stopped by gossip or fear,” he said.
He concluded with a message to his political opponents, urging them to engage the electorate through ideas rather than falsehoods.
“To those waiting for my downfall—wake up. If you want to lead, come to the people with ideas, not lies. This train has no brakes.”
