An multi-agency team from the Laikipia region has returned livestock stolen from a farm in the Loniek district of the Kirima sub-county, the National Police Service NPS reports.
It was gathered by the Nairobi Independent, from NPS, that the rescue came after security officials came into contact with cattle hunters in the Chapelonin area of Tiati after which a violent firefight issued.
Livestock which including 9 cows and 18 goats, have since been returned to their owners in the Lonets region.
Police say, in a statement that they will continue to work to combat bandits and cattle rustling in the country and ensure lasting peace in the affected areas.
“Police remains committed to the fight against banditry and cattle rustling in the country and ensuring lasting peace in the affected areas.” Said the police.
