- Kenyans reacts on bouncers given guns by Gov’t.
The Bouncers Association Of Kenya (BAK) have demanding that the Government licence them to own guns.
They spoke at press release at City Hall, Nairobi, saying that its members are faced with different challenges including threats from people who own dangerous weapons and cause harm to individuals in events they provide security, especially clubs.
They further called on their employers to increase their wages citing security challenges.
It has been gathered that the BAK reached the decision for their members security purposes.
However, source brief to the Nairobi Independent opposes the move saying that in many incidences bouncers are the problem and given guns, they will kill many people. “I oppose this move.”
It further noted that if we still have an issue where guns are hired from cops by the said bouncers, if they are allowed to own guns it will be even more chaotic.
“This is where organized crime will go up. If watchmen don’t own them, why would a bouncer at a club need a gun for? To deal with a drunkard? Mts! Wuayo!”
