KDF Soldier Detained After Girlfriend Found Dead with Blood in Genitals at Kitengela Hospital
Police in Kajiado County have arrested a Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) soldier in connection with the suspicious death of his girlfriend, whose body was discovered at a health facility in Kitengela.
The soldier reportedly surrendered to military police hours after abandoning the body at the hospital.
Notably, preliminary investigations have raised significant concerns, especially regarding the discovery of blood in the woman’s genital area, which has prompted further inquiries into the circumstances of her death.
According to the official police report (OB 42/27/04/2025), the suspect, who is stationed at the Kahawa Garrison Defence Forces Constabulary, had rented a room at an apartment in Kitengela to spend time with his 24-year-old girlfriend.
However, their time together would soon take a tragic turn. Around 11:00 p.m. on the night of the incident, the woman suddenly became unconscious and began experiencing severe difficulty breathing. In response, the soldier raised an alarm, and the apartment caretaker arrived to assess the situation.
In an attempt to seek medical assistance, the soldier and the caretaker requested help from another tenant in the building.
The tenant offered his vehicle to transport the unconscious woman to St. Paul’s Hospital in Kitengela. Unfortunately, despite their best efforts, the woman was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital.

The police report indicates that the woman may have already passed away before reaching the hospital. Though no visible injuries were found on her body, the discovery of blood in her genital area has raised questions about the possibility of foul play.
This finding has led investigators to consider whether the woman was subjected to any form of assault before her death.
Following the discovery of the body, hospital staff instructed the soldier and the driver to report the incident to the local police station. However, rather than comply, the soldier fled the scene.
The driver initially claimed he needed to call for assistance but, moments later, the soldier was seen escaping by jumping over the hospital gate. This flight from the scene prompted further suspicion and led to the soldier’s detention by military authorities.
The soldier later explained to police that, fearing the potential consequences of the incident, he had run to his barracks at Kahawa Garrison. He subsequently reported to the Military Police, where he was detained in the guardroom.
On the afternoon of Saturday, the soldier was escorted to the Kitengela Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) office, where he is currently assisting with the ongoing investigation.
The woman’s body has been transferred to Shalom Mortuary, where a post-mortem examination will be conducted to establish the exact cause of her death.
The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death is ongoing, with law enforcement authorities examining all possible leads.
Joseph Indege, the Officer-in-Charge of the Kitengela Region Directorate of Criminal Investigations, confirmed that the soldier is fully cooperating with investigators as they seek to uncover the truth behind this tragic incident.
The police are urging anyone with further information related to the case to come forward, as the investigation continues to unfold. The community remains shaken by this tragic event, and authorities are committed to ensuring justice for the deceased woman.
