Kasmuel McOure Heckled by Gen Zs as Crowd Shouts “Enda Home” in Viral Street Confrontation

Kasmuel McOure heckled by Gen Zs has quickly become one of the most talked-about political moments online after a viral video showed the activist being chased away by an angry crowd of young people shouting, “Enda home.”

The confrontation marks a dramatic shift for the once-celebrated activist who rose to prominence during Kenya’s 2024 anti-government protests.

From Protest Hero to Political Controversy

Kasmuel McOure was once a familiar face in the 2024 anti-government demonstrations that mobilized thousands of young Kenyans. At the height of the protests, many rallied behind him, especially after claims surfaced that he had been abducted.

However, his political journey took a sharp turn after he began supporting William Ruto following his decision to join the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM).

His association with Raila Odinga — and later being seen meeting President Ruto — triggered criticism from sections of Gen Z activists who had once viewed him as one of their own.

Did Gen Zs Chase Kasmuel McOure?

In a video now trending online, McOure was seen attempting to address a group of young people when the situation turned hostile. The crowd refused to listen and labeled him a “traitor.”

“Go home, leave this place. Do not come back. Go home, do not return,” said the young people.

His Remarks About Raila Odinga Resurface

The controversy also reignited discussions about comments McOure made following the death of Raila Odinga.

In an earlier interview, he described the former Prime Minister as a generous friend and mentor who frequently supported him financially without being asked.

McOure revealed that the minimum amount he ever received from Raila was KSh 100,000, while the highest was approximately $8,000 (over KSh 1 million) during a trip to the United States.

He expressed deep gratitude for the personal mentorship and the doors the veteran politician opened for him before his passing.

Those remarks, combined with his political alignment, appear to have deepened the divide between him and some Gen Z supporters.

Social Media Divided

The incident sparked mixed reactions online, with Kenyans debating whether the treatment was justified.

@Diesel Mwago Main said:

“He rushed. He ndio time yake kushikana na Sifuna na Babu for his better future. But he decided to disown the Gen Zs.”

@Dr Matcom said:

“Napenda vile saa hii Kenya watu wamechanuka.”

@Dee said:

“Lakini kusema ukweli alikuwa anataka kuwaaddress kama nani?”

@Susan Mumbi said:

“Lakini Gen Zs enemy ni yule tu mtu ako side ya government.”

@Robbie Jasper said:

“For once let us be serious as a generation, this is not good at all.”

@Simba Darkdon said:

“Hakuna kitu hunishinda kama kutembea ukifukuzwa, hio safari huwa ndefu sana.”

Growing Tension Within Kenya’s Youth Politics

The incident underscores growing political tension among Gen Z voters in Kenya. Many young activists have positioned themselves as independent voices pushing for accountability, often skeptical of traditional political alliances.

For some, McOure’s shift symbolized betrayal. For others, the hostile reaction reflects rising intolerance in political spaces.

Either way, the viral confrontation has reignited debate about loyalty, activism, and political survival in Kenya’s fast-evolving youth movement.
