Kakamega Tragedy: Wife, Three Children Allegedly Kill Husband For Returning Home Late
A family in Shinyalu is mourning the loss of one of their own following a tragic domestic incident that has left the community in shock.
The dispute, involving a man, his wife, and their three children, ended in the unfortunate death of the family patriarch.
The deceased, identified as Magnos Lumiti, is reported to have died as a result of an assault allegedly carried out by his wife, Olivia Shitsiali, with the assistance of their three children.
The tragic events unfolded after a confrontation between Lumiti and Shitsiali concerning her late return home.
According to a report by K24, Lumiti questioned his wife about her whereabouts and the reason for coming home late, which reportedly triggered a violent reaction.
Shitsiali allegedly struck Lumiti on the head during the confrontation, leaving him unconscious. It is further alleged that their three children joined in the assault, ultimately leading to Lumiti’s untimely death.

Family members of the deceased have spoken out, expressing long-standing concerns regarding Shitsiali’s behavior.
They claim that despite repeated warnings about her movements and conduct, Shitsiali paid no heed. “The deceased’s wife is always walking around. We’ve warned her so many times, but she doesn’t listen. Our uncle has died because of her,” one relative told K24.
Following the incident, Lumiti’s family has resolved that Shitsiali is no longer welcome at the family homestead. They have accused her of contributing directly to the death of Lumiti and view her presence as unwelcome and disrespectful in the aftermath of such a loss.
The grieving family is now calling upon the government to intervene and ensure that justice is served.
They are pleading for legal action to be taken against Shitsiali and for support in navigating the profound loss they have suffered. “We are pleading with the government to help us. We cannot see the future now that he is dead. Our in-law had refused to be questioned about where she was coming from,” another family member lamented.
As investigations continue, the community watches closely, hoping that the matter will be thoroughly examined and that appropriate action will be taken to deliver justice for the late Magnos Lumiti.
