Government Job Vacancies in Kenya: 300+ Positions Announced in Major Recruitment Drive

The government job vacancies in Kenya have surged this week after authorities announced more than 300 openings across ministries, state corporations, and public universities in a large-scale recruitment drive aimed at tackling the country’s unemployment challenge.

The positions span senior executive roles, consultancy opportunities, ICT placements, and hospitality jobs — offering opportunities for both seasoned professionals and mid-career applicants.

KNQA Seeks Senior HR Leader

The Kenya National Qualifications Authority (KNQA) is recruiting a Deputy Director of Human Resource Management and Development (KNQA Grade 3).

Applicants must possess a Master’s degree and at least ten years of relevant experience. The deadline for submission is March 17.

KeNHA Announces 228 Consultancy Roles

In one of the largest batches, the Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has advertised 228 consultancy positions tied to World Bank-funded road projects covering approximately 815 kilometres.

The infrastructure projects, located within the Lake Victoria Basin, will also include fibre optic cable installation to enhance digital connectivity.

Interested applicants must demonstrate at least eight years of experience in road design. Deadlines vary by project, with several closing in mid-March.

Affordable Housing Board Hiring CEO

The Affordable Housing Board (AHB) is searching for a Chief Executive Officer (AHB Grade 1).

The new CEO will act as the accounting officer of the state corporation and spearhead the government’s housing accessibility agenda. Applications close March 10.

SASRA CEO Position Open

The Sacco Societies Regulatory Authority (SASRA) has also declared a vacancy for its Chief Executive Officer.

The successful candidate will serve a four-year contract and must have at least ten years of experience in financial management. The deadline for applications is March 18.

TSC Announces ICT and Fleet Roles

The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has listed five vacancies, including Principal ICT Officer and Fleet Management positions at Grade 7.

Applications must be submitted via the commission’s official website by March 9.

KTNA, Universities and Other Agencies Hiring

The Kenya Trade Network Agency (KTNA) is hiring an Internal Auditor for Information Systems on permanent terms. Candidates must meet Chapter Six constitutional requirements and hold information systems audit certification.

Meanwhile, Multimedia University of Kenya has advertised six senior positions including Registrar and Principal Procurement Officer.

Similarly, Kenyatta University is recruiting seven hospitality staff for its North Coast Beach Hotel, with roles ranging from Chef De Partie to Laundry Attendant.

The Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development (KICD) is seeking an Assistant Fitness Officer and Senior Systems Analyst.

Board-level opportunities are also available at the National Commission for Science, Technology and Innovation (NACOSTI) and the Kenya National Innovation Agency (KeNIA), which are recruiting chairpersons and board members.

Government Issues Warning to Applicants

All agencies have cautioned applicants against paying any fees during the application process.

Successful candidates will be required to provide clearance documents, including a Certificate of Good Conduct and tax compliance certificates.
