A tractor made in Kenya’s University, JKIA stirs reaction.

James Kimathi, a social media enthusiasts has shared a beautiful Tractor manufacturered at Jomo Kenya University of Science and Technology.

According to Kimathi, the tractor can till 1 to 5 hectares of land.

He captioned the photo: “You will not believe but it’s made here in Kenya at JKUAT. Would be great for 1 to 5 acres.”

Kenyans Reacts:

“What difference does it have,” Kiplagat questioned.

“Compared to? For me it’s the fact that it’s made here in Kenya , in our local university, by our engineers and technologists. It’s affordable
It’s also a focus to the small scale farmer who has been seriously sidelined by availability if machinery.” Kimathi replied.

Joel Kamunyu noted tht they are “Very efficient for small scale farmers, when they were initially assembled in the BEED workshop, I was still a student there.”

“Bei ndio issue. Will it make economic sense for someone planting on one acre?” Kelvin simiyu.

“What’s the price of the machine, a place to get one and any attachment that comes with it.” Dennis Rapenda enquired.
